SBDA II Amplifier

Based on the success of the original SBDA design, SIAMtec introduced the SBDA II which allows new services to be offered to the underground mine customers.

As with the original SBDA,  the SBDA II is powered from the coaxial cable.

The amplifier has been designed with redundancy in mind by using dual transistors per amplifier stage.

If one transistor should fail, the overall amplifier output would drop by only 6 dB allowing communication services to remain operational

SBDA II-CM amplifier

In addition to the 800 Mhz services already offered by the SBDA II, the SBDA II-CM amplifier also provide support for the Cable Modem technology.

This technology already provides high speed Internet access to million of household customers worldwide.  This proven technology is easy to install or maintain and very cost effective.

The supported standards are DOCSYS 1.1 and 2.0.

The SBDA II housing protects the electronic components from water and dust and dissipate internally generated heat.

The housing is supported by a messenger cable.  Two gaskets protect the circuit against water and provide RF shielding.  Four port plugs in the cover enable access to test points.

The SBDA II CM optional circuit board is used to provide Cable Modem technology to the underground mine customer.  It amplifies and conditions the Cable modem signals from the Head-end to the end user modem and vice-versa.
