Features & Benefits

SIAMnet infrastructure (Backbone)

A unique communication backbone for all your present and future needs.

Improves productivity by eliminating delays, relaying operational data quickly and by overseeing critical operations.

Multi-purpose communication backbone for voice, data and audio/video transmissions, in stationary and/or mobile applications.

Highly efficient, cost effective CATV cable technology.

Standard and easy to install accessories designed for harsh environments.

Efficient, powerful omni-directional antennas broadcast over a long distance inside the drifts and stopes.

Non-obstructive directional antennas provide radio coverage in inaccessible areas without the risk of damaging the main cable.

Adapts to changing needs. The Tap antennas are readily available, quick and easy to install, therefore adding coverage as the need grows, and all this can be done without interfering with the original system.

Extends radio coverage. 800 MHz frequencies propagate four times better in drifts than VHF frequencies, thus allowing greater distance.

Voice communication

No limit to the number of voice channels on a SIAMnet.

Minewide communications using conventional or trunking radio systems.

Worldwide communication. A telephone interconnect (patch) equipment is available to allow the user to communicate with the outside world.

High audio sound quality. Clear audio signals that allow perfect communication between users.

Highly efficient antennas. The SIAMnet and portable radio antennas are properly polarized for maximum efficiency.

Long distance communication. The SIAMnet performs better than existing systems and allows voice communication at greater distances between the "Walkie Talkie"and the antenna (DAS).

Data and Multimedia communication

Versatile and fast with eight high capacity channels.

Multi-port. Each channel supports one high-speed Ethernet or audio-video link in addition to the two asynchronous (115Kbps serial RS232C) ports.

Each BMRM / SRM unit consists of three modems for one Nema 4 enclosure.

Serial or Ethernet control links for any type of PLC, sensor or LAN's computer, etc.

Frequency and space diversity. Dual radios and antennas on mobile SRMs allow continuous communication even in dead zones.

Hot redundancy. Dual radios at BMRM and SRM provide backup in case one radio or antenna should fail.

Data integrity. The radio link is designed to use an error control protocol so as to insure data integrity even in the most severe environment.

Two modes of operation: Point to Point or Point to Multipoint (64).

Continuous digital video transmission. Multimedia SRM digitize and compress the video image by using the Wavelet algorithm. This method is immune to the loss of synchronization between transmitters and receivers which plagues the analog RF video transmissions in underground environments.

Robust and water tight enclosures.

110-220 vac or 24 vdc models are available.

Diagnostics and status LED's provide information on the status of the system.

A communication log (BMRM) provides troubleshooting information on the quality of the RF communication link.

Analog Audio / Video communication (stationary applications)

Up to 10 Audio/Video channels per SIAMnet (cable or leg), depending on the Modulator type and the number of data channels being used.

Transmits simultaneously audio and video signals via conventional CATV channels.

Compatible with television receivers or Demodulators.

Compatible with CCTV multiplexors, switchers, VCR's and monitors for viewing and recording of multiple cameras.

Does not interfere with data or voice communication.

Improves the safety and working conditions of the employee as well as productivity.

Used in teleremote operations where the process control is done from the surface Control Room.
