The SIAMnet Radio Modems, are key elements in a high performance telecommunication system for underground mines. The SIAMnet supports up to eight data channels simultaneously. A channel consists of a Base Master Radio Modem (BMRM) and a number of SIAMnet Radio Modems (SRM).
|
The BMRM and SRM units support three (3) communication ports simultaneously. Two are asynchronous port (115Kbps) and the third is a high speed synchronous port which can be either Ethernet on the SRM Data model of Audio/Video on the Multimedia model. Each communication port is isolated and independent from the others. For example, the BMRM async 1 port communicates with the async 1 ports of all the SRMs assigned to that same BMRM. The same applies for the two other ports. |

The “BMRM/SRM data” has two asynchronous serial ports (selectable RS232C, RS422 or RS485) and one Ethernet port. This mode is normally used for real time video. A BMRM multimedia receiver displays the video images sent by a multimedia SRM in real time, using a dedicated channel (one of eight available channels). |

The BMRM/SRM multimedia has two asynchronous serial ports, an audio port and one video signal selected at the BMRM from up to four SRM video camera ports. There are two types of operations for the BMRM-SRM technology: This mode is generally used for data transmission, when a central server communicates with several vehicular or stationary computers. The SIAMnet radiomodems are available in two versions with many options in order to meet the various needs. Both versions have identical radio interfaces but different data interfaces. |
